PT Adaro Indonesia and its partners, PT SIS, PT Pama, PT Buma, and PT Balangan Coal, handed over aid in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) and masks to the Balangan District Government, Wednesday (April 15).

Regent H Ansharuddin who received the aid at the courtyard of his office said, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, PPE and mask assistance are really needed for the medical team on duty in the field.

The PPE will be distributed to hospitals and puskesmas (community health center) in Balangan. While masks are distributed directly to the public. The technical distribution is managed by the Balangan COVID-19 Task Force.

He said, under these conditions, all parties must work together to accelerate the handling of the pandemic.

"All parties ranging from local government, private companies, community organizations, must intervene, giving what we can give to the community," he said.

According to Leni Marlina, CSR Department Head of PT Adaro Indonesia, the assistance of 50 sets of PPE medical consisted of gloves, goggles, N95 mask, coverall, jumpsuit, and boots.

50 PPE and 2000 masks, Leni continued, were the first stage of assistance for Balangan. Adaro and partners have prepared the next stage while continuing to look at the latest situation and development.

"COVID-19 is worrying, but we must not lose empathy, then hide. The medical officers who are on duty but have minimal PPE must be supported by us together. They are on the frontline, we support them," she concluded.
