Head of Banjarmasin Health Office Machli Riyadi said up to now the positive case of COVID-19 recorded was only one person, but people at risk (ODR) of contracting the virus as many as 699.


They, he said after meeting with the City's Legislative Council's Commission IV on Tuesday (March 24, 2020) were residents who came from the affected region, thus they categorized as ODR. 

The number is 699 ODR recorded. As many as 126 ODR reported themselves directly to public health centers (puskesmas), their condition was checked well.

"The ODR category does not show complaints, whether coughing, flu, or shortness of breath, but they are still asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days at home," he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Machli Riyadi said, residents coming from out town and seen with symptoms of being unwell, such as coughing with flu, sore throat, also had a fever, were categorized as people under monitoring (ODP).

"The number of ODP is 54 people," he said.

While patients under surveillance (PDP), who are now being treated in the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Ulin Banjarmasin as many as four. "One of them was confirmed positive of COVID-19," he said.

With the positive case of COVID-19, he pointed out, Banjarmasin was declared KLB (Extraordinary Occurrence) and its status raised from alert to emergency response. 

"With the current situation, if it is not important, don't leave the house," he appealed.

People's role, he insisted, is very important in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. He also suggested the restriction of access in and out of this area.

"If you can strictly select people to enter this city, both from the airport or port and other access points," Machli Riyadi said.

In addition, all residents are encouraged to apply a healthy lifestyle, frequently wash hands, have adequate rest, and eat nutritious fruits.

"Guava is best consumed now because the vitamin C content is very high," he said.
