Cement producer PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk invited the surrounding people to encourage the old culture of gotong-royong or working together when commemorating the National Waste Care Day (HPSN).

Together with the residents of Langadai Village and Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district Consultative Leadership Forum (Muspika), the company worked hand in hand to renovate the hall of garbage bank, the office of the village-owned enterprise (BUMDes), guard post, and cleaned up the surrounding areas.

"This moment was also used to socialize and educate the public about the importance of preventing coronavirus (Covid-19)," Indocement's Director of Human Resources Antonius Marcos noted in a report, Monday (March 9, 2020).

The activity was arranged in the "Indocement Goes To Community (IGTC)" program as a form of the company's concern for the surrounding environment and its consistency in developing villages as partners.

The IGTC activity was attended by 80 participants, ranging from directors, general manager, plant manager, IMI, SP-ISI, Indocement employee representatives, the village community, and Muspika.

After the activity, the team visited mangrove forest attraction of Langadai village, which is now becoming known to the world, and cannot be separated from a villager named Adawiyah.

Adawiyah is persistent in rebuilding mangrove forests that previously had been abandoned. Since 2011 she planted up to 2.000 more mangrove seedlings.

She hoped this spirit to continue to be transmitted to the younger generation and villagers always protect the environment.

Assisted by Indocement, who always guides, the Langadai Village with its mangrove forest tourism can be better known and felt for the surrounding community.

The activity was also followed by the groundbreaking of the construction of the Langadai Assistant Health Center (Pustu). Indocement's HR director laid down the fist stone.

Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district Head Johannudin appreciated the activities initiated by Indocement and hoped them to continue to bring positive impact ffor the community and be more aware of a clean and healthy environment.
