The Batulicin Class 2 Immigration in Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, has tightened overseeing of foreigners by forming Foreigner Oversight Team (Timpora) till the sub-district level.

Head of the office Gelora Nusa in Kotabaru on Friday said in fact the formation of Timpora at the sub-district level in Kotabaru has been in March 2019. But this time, he added, the tightening is done with an intensive coordination.

"In carrying out the tightening of overseeing we prioritize investment friedly law inforcement," he pointed out.

According to him, this is related to the issuance of President Regulation (Perpres) No 21/2016, concerning visa free, and the enactment of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), which  then boost the incoming of tourist and foreign workers, thus the surveillance need to be optimized.

One of the rising of problems in surveillance and law enforcement against immigration violation, he said, due to lack of coodination between agencies.

He asked the Timpora member to exchange information related to foreigners and make the best effort to maintain a condusive situation and investment friendly in Kotabaru.
