The Tabalong District keeps encouraging synergy in managing waste as the government targets to reduce 12,012 tons garbage by 2025.

"We need to strengthen synergy among parties involved in the handling of waste in order waste reduction to reach 30 percent by 2025," Regent Anang Syakhfiani remarked here when he opened socialization of optimalization in waste handling by synergizing parties involved, Wednesday.

In its regional policy and strategy (jakstrada), Tabalong made an object to curtail 30 percent or 12,012 ton of waste by 2025, until only 28,028 tons or 70 percent left to be handled.

With its 274.249 population, the Environment Agency assumed the potential of garbage to handle is about 40,040 tons. The agency has socialized optimalization in waste handling by synergizing parties involved in waste handling, such as garbage collectors, gargabe bank, and TPS 3R (sites for reducing, reusing and recycling waste).

Nowadays, Tabalong has succeeded in reducing 6.12 percent or 2.239 tons of garbage.

The agency expected households to also play their role in curtailing waste. "Household is the smallest level, (and should) synergize with garbage collector, garbage bank, and TPS 3R," head of the agency Rowi Rawatianice said.
