For the first time cement factory PT Conch South Kalimantan gave scholarship to the Tabalong District students to study in Nanjing Polytechnic Institute China.

But, ironically from 30 quota it prepared only seven high school and high vocational school graduates who registered. They all won the chance.

"Indeed, Conch provided sholarship for 30 students, but only seven who received sholarship to China," Head of the Tabalong Education and Culture Agency Akhmad Rizali said.

According to him, the lack of interest was because of the tight of schedule, and in conjunction with the admission of new students in some universities.

A state vocational high school SMKN 1 Tanjung Ahmad Hanafi rated the applicants low ineterest caused by parents' mindset who tend to afraid 
of sending their son or daughters to study abroad.

"Whereas the Conch scholarship program is a good oppotunity for Tabalong students to study abroad," Hanafi pointed out.

As a result, only seven students who were interested and won the chance to study in Nanjing Polytechnic Institute China.

In respond to this, Deputy Regent Mawardi hoped in the next year therewill be many more students here who interested in the Conch sholarship program.

"Schedule of selection may need to be evaluated in order students who interested to increase," Mawardi said.

Meanwhile, the sevent students as the recipients of the scholarship is scheduled to be departed this month. Especially for their first year will be spent to learn Mandarin language.
