Mayor Ibnu Sina inaugurated the operation of the first city government owned hospital, Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, on the 493th anniversary of the city, Tuesday (Sept 24).

Mayor said as the hospital on Jalan RK Ilir, South Banjarmasin, overview the Martapura River, then a pier will be built for access to the river.

"As the hospital owned by the City of a Thousand Rivers there will be access to ther river and we will build a pier next year," he remarked.

Meanwhile, he added, the city government has ordered a river ambulance as a service facility for the residents to the hospital. "People who live on the riverbank can use the facility of the ambulance if they go to the hospital," Ibnu Sina pointed out.

Other facility is now being built is a three storeys building for inpatient room. "All are integrated to the emergency room (UGD), including later to the pier facility," he said.

According to him, the development of the city hospital still require IDR50 billion to be complete in facility and infrastructure.  "Insya Allah it will be allocated in 2020 budget," he stated.

Head of Health Agency Muchli Riyadi said, the hospital has 200 human resources with 22 medical specialists. In 2020 it will add 100 bed facility. "We don't have many right now, especially the ICU only has two beds," he said.
