Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) is fighting for two villages which until now are still underdeveloped villages in order to get the attention of the central government.

Kotabaru DPRD Commission I Secretary Syairi Mukhlis, after a working visit to the Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Ministry, said the council continued to strive for the center to pay more attention to disadvantaged areas.

"In Kotabaru District, there are two underdeveloped villages, namely Sampanahan and Limbur. We are trying to make the central government pay special attention to the area," Syairi said on Saturday.

He admitted, many things had not been fulfilled, such as the availability of road infrastructure which was still minimal and other facilities. DPRD, said the PDIP politician, through its efforts, including coordinating with the central and provincial governments, expects more allocation for the two villages.

According to him, the ideal allocation allocated for underdeveloped villages is Rp3 billion to Rp 5 billion per village to be used for infrastructure development, especially roads, other facilities and human resource development and improvement, so they can align themselves with other villages.
