Navy warship KRI Sampari 628, which is one of the Indonesian warship fleets, visited Kotabaru District on Sunday.

Commander of Kotabaru Naval Base Marine Lt. (P) Guruh Dwi Yudhanto said KRI Sampari 628 was patrolling the waters of South Kalimantan.

"The KRI Sampari 628 is not long in Kotabaru, of course it will carry out the duty of the state, namely guarding Indonesian waters," he said.

In addition to carrying out a special mission, the arrival of the new warship, which was launched in 2014, was also to foster the love of society towards the maritime world.

Guruh also invited the public to get to know more about the warships produced by the youth of the country.

The ships can be visited at Pelindo III Kotabaru Port on Jalan Stagen kilometer 9 in Stagen Village, Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district.

"It is our hope that the community, especially the younger generation, of Kotabaru Regency can love the sea more and who knows if anyone has the intention to join the Navy," said the commander.
