The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District Government through the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Agency is building a type B sports building. Regent H A Chairansyah officially laid the first stone of development located next to the Murakata Barabai Stadium, Thursday (1/8).
The building designed for multi-purpose sports activities is worth Rp. 13,120,034,000 and is carried out by the contractor PT Lingkar Persada (LIDA) with a target of 150 calendar days.
Head of Disporapar HST Wahyudi Rahmad said that the GOR will have a capacity of 1,500 to 3,000 spectators.
"It was designed as a multi-purpose sports building so it could later be used for various types of sports activities, such as futsal, tennis, badminton, martial arts, etc. But certainly not for commercial, such as concerts or parties. So it may only sports," he said.

For the procurement of facilities this year focused on badminton. Type B GOR will be equipped with committee rooms, dressing rooms, lavatories and others to support athletes when playing.
Regent H A Chairansyah said the construction of the GOR is a means to improve sports achievements on Bumi Murakata (HST) in order to have a building focused on training.
"We hope that the implementing contractors can timely complete the construction and at least not until December is completed so as not to cause problems in the future," he said.
