Free cleft lip surgery at the Bhayangkara Hoegeng Imam Santoso Hospital, Banjarmasin, Monday (17/6), was greeted with tears of emotion of parents when they thanked the South Kalimantan Regional Police as the organizer.
The husband and wife of Masnan and Masitah from Aluh-Aluh, Banjar District, were very grateful, their third son Muhammad (6) could undergo surgery.
"If at our own expense, it is clear that we are incapable and only surrender to the condition of the child with cleft lip at birth," said Masnan full of emotion.
"Thank God we are very happy and thank you for the police who have helped," he said.
Likewise the Zakaria and Juhaniah couples. Their 11-month-old daughter Alfisah was brought with high spirit to be able to take part in the operation.
"We have asked the hospital that the cost of cleft lip surgery is tens of millions of rupiah. We can only pray that there is sustenance from where the child can be operated on. Thank God our prayer was granted with a free operation by the South Kalimantan Regional Police," said the resident of Astambul, Banjar Regency.
To encourage the patients and families, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani and his wife, Chairwoman of South Kalimantan Bhayangkari Rinny Yazid Fanani, were present in the midst of carrying out the operation.
The presence of the number one person at the South Kalimantan Regional Police was immediately welcomed by the parents who immediately thanked.
With his smile, the Chief of Police and his wife greeted one by one patient, both those who waited their turn at the surgery and those who had finished.
"Cheer up ladies and gentlemen. God willing, after this operation, your children will become better and more uplifting, of course," said the Police Chief.
On that occasion, the Regional Police Chief also gave a special appreciation to the Indonesian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Association (PABMI) for their support for the successful operation together with the Health and Medical (Dokkes Bid) of South Kalimantan Police and Smile Train.
