Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the Interagency Division of the Indonesian Truck Business Association (Aptrindo) for South Kalimantan Bambang Supriono said infrastructure development in Kalimantan has supported the flow of goods from Banjarmasin to various regions.

According to him, in addition to streamlining the flow of goods distribution by land, the construction of road infrastructure can alleviate the maintenance cost of transport fleet.

"With the construction of road infrastructure which is currently being boosted by the government, it can at least reduce vehicle maintenance costs," he said.

Ahead of Ramadan, which is a few weeks ahead, it ensures that the fleet is ready to support logistics transportation for basic needs during fasting and Eid al-Fitr.

"Supporting logistic transportation during the fasting month South Kalimantan branch of Aptrindo is ready, and it seems there are no problems," Bambang said.

South Kalimantan branch of Aptrindo, he said, had just been formed some time ago, and it would work hard to improve services.

Some efforts to improve services include improving human resources (HR) and enforcing several rules, among others, so that truck drivers are free from alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs. The regulation is expected to reduce the number of freight truck accidents.

Aptrindo in the near future will collaborate with stakeholders to increase the professionalism of trucking crews by providing training and certification for drivers who are deemed worthy of driving. Latif Th
