Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), which boasts excellent accreditation, has again added five professors, strengthening its position towards the top 1,500 in the world rankings and becoming World Class University.
"Alhamdulillah, after the addition of six new professors on March 31, 2026, today five more professors are inaugurated," said ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri when inaugurating the professors at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium, Tuesday.
He said this significantly supports ULM's efforts to climb the EduRank rankings for the world best universities, aiming to reach 1,500th place by the end of year.

Currently, ULM ranks around 1,600 globally and its position has steadily climbed over the past three years.
In 2023, ULM ranked 2,528th, then 2,196th in 2024, and improved to 1,847 in 2025.
The Rector emphasized that this positive trend reflects ULM's efforts to consistently improve the quality of education, research, and academic reputation at the global level.
"Nationally, ULM is in the 15 best universities in Indonesia in the AD Scientific Index 2025," he added.

He continues to encourage young lecturers to keep up with accomplished lecturers who have attained professorship.
"I will map out which study programs do not yet have professors. We must encourage them, as these experts are key to developing the Tri Dharma (the three pillars of higher education)," he pointed out.
The five professors inaugurated are all from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA). They are Prof. Heri Budi Santoso, Prof. Ichsan Ridwan, Prof. Sudarningsih, Prof. Gunawan and Prof. Ninis Hadi Haryanti.
