Rantau, South Kalimantan 9/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tapin District, which is rich in handicrafts, has about 14 distinctive typical motifs of Sasirangan.
The management of the Cintawari Handicraft Business Group in Timbaan Village , Mariyatul Ikrimah, in Rantau on Tuesday said besides farming women in her village are also sasirangan artisans.
"Around 30 women here we train sasirangan craftsmen to improve their economy and creativity," she said.
Mariyatul mentioned 14 Tapin typical sasirangan motif are the motif of balahendang dragon, single onion, panting polantan, gasing kemuning, King Datu Ujung Swing.
The motif of dandang badangung, masked wayang, balingan machete, buhan tikup, comb board, halang manyaung, akimbo kites, tip off nile, and anakbajang batuntung tangan.
"The most favorite motifs and in demand are the naga balahendang, halang manyuang, comb board, and panting," added Mariyatul.
But according to her, the absence of patent rights bringing the Tapin typical motives are used by other sasirangan production house without prior notice.
"Currently we are constrained by the absence of a production house or gallery so it is less effective in production and less comfortable when guests visit our place," she complained.
