Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin State Polytechnic (Poliban), supported by PT PLN South and Central Kalimantan Main Distribution Unit (UID Kalselteng), inaugurated automotive conversion workshop.
Poliban Director Joni Riadi when officiating the workshop in Banjarmasin, Tuesday (Nov 26, 2024), said the two-wheeled vehicle conversion workshop is named Sukses Electric Vehicle Repair and Conversion or abbreviated "Elvi Sukesi Workshop".
The "Elvi Sukesi" becomes a place for Automotive Engineering Technology students major in Mechanical Engineering to improve their competency.
"The workshop is also for the public who want to convert their vehicles from oil to electric," he said.

Poliban is the only college in the province that has opened automotive conversion workshop and it has a big support from PT PLN.
"We are grateful to PT PLN, not only this program, also other programs, because our campus has a long journey of collaboration with PLN, including in electrical engineering study program," said Joni Riadi.
He said the workshop was opened to support government's program in accordance with Presidential Regulation No.55 of 2019 concerning Accleration of Battery-based Electric Motor Vehicle Program for Road Transportation.
"Hopefully this workshop will make a big contribution for the country and people," he said.
Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN South and Central Kalimantan Main Distribution Unit Ahmad Syauki said he really appreciated the inauguration of Poliban's "Elvi Sukesi" workshop in collaboration with his party as the state electricity company.
According to him, PT PLN distributed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund for education in this program.
"Indeed, our focus is on distributing CSR in socio-economic fields and education," he said.
He commended Poliban's initiative to build this automotive conversion workshop as an ecosystem step fpr the progress of automotive conversion in this province.
"We always support innovarion and creativity initiated by universities," he said.
