Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS), South Kalimantan, Social Affairs Agency (Dinsos) Nordiansyah said that poverty percentage in the district has declined to 3.38 in 2024 compared to 4.01 in 2023.
"What we have implemented together has had a significant impact on reducing the poverty rate," said Nordiansyah in Kandangan, Thursday.
He said the data was based on the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in early July 2024.
HSS government, he expounded, has allocated a social fund (bansos) of IDR16.5 billion through its 2024 pure budget (APBD), of which 71.33 percent has been realized.
Then in the 2024 revised budget (APBD Perubahan), HSS again allocates social assistance fund for people in need.

The district government then held a silaturahmi or a gathering to strengthen relation within the government, related agencies, and a joint commitment to improve people welfare in HSS.
"This year we have prepared a fund of about IDR16 billion and (another) IDR8 billion in the revised budget. Our goal is to help people in need, so that we can overcome poverty in HSS District," said HSS acting Regent Hermansyah.
In this activity, the acting Regent, in the accompany of Head of Social Affairs Agency, handed over basic food assistance to community in need.
This proof of HSS government's concern, he said, will continue to be improved.
In July, the regional prosperous rice or rastrada has been distributed, then basic food followed, in the form of sugar and cooking oil, for the period of July till September.
The silaturahmi was also attended by Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare Zulkifli, Assistant for General Administration Efran, various potential representatives of Social Agency, namely Tagana, Samping Desa, SDM PH, TKSK, Karang Taruna, and PSM.
