Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Tour de Loksado will soon be held again and the South Kalimantan Tourism Agency informed that it is open to both beginners and professional cyclists.
"This is open to the public, both beginners and professional cyclists can take part to enliven this annual event," said M Noor, Daily Executive of South Kalimantan Tourism Agency.
Hundreds of cyclists from various regions in Indonesia will take part in the Tour de Loksado 2024, the cycling tour and sport tourism covering three districts in South Kalimantan.
M Noor here on Saturday (June 1, 2024) said the event is scheduled to be held on June 29-30, 2024 covering a distance of 150 kilometers.
The tour will start from Kiram Park, one of tourist destinations in Banjar District, to go to Tapin District, then continued to South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District, exactly to its capital, Kandangan, for a stopover.

Here then, the race will begin to reach the finish line in Loksado, the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) which is one of Meratus Geopark sites.
The tour competes in junior under 19 (male) category, men elite aged 19-29, master A aged 30-37, master B aged 39-48, master C aged 49 and over, and women open aged 14 and over.
Enthusiasm of participants was considered quite high. So far, it was recorded that 360 participants had registered.
"Registered participants are not only from this region, but also from various region in the country," he said.
As a national level activity, M Noor said, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government continues to make preparations, including coordination with various related parties.
"Various parties from health agency, police, to relevant district/city tourism agencies have reported their progress and readiness. Hopefully this year's Tour de Loksado will be better than before," he said.
M Noor added that the South Kalimantan National Road Construction Agency (BPJN) welcomed the event and ensured that the road on the route of this tour is in good condition.
"Hopefully through this event our tourism potential can be promoted nationally and have an impact on the level of tourist visit to South Kalimantan," said M Noor.
