Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of Banjarmasin City Police is handling the case of a mother who brutally persecute her adopted son.
"We have arrested her and held her in detention for further legal proceedings," said City Police Chief Kombes Pol Anjar Wicaksana Sik, who was accompanied by Head of Criminal Police AKP Arief Prasetya Sik and Chief of North Banjarmasin Sector Police AKP Andik Eko Sik here Thursday.
FR, the offender, was arrested on Wednesday (16/11) afternoon at her home in Sungai Andai, Sub-district of North Banjarmasin.
While the victim is known with initial DA (8), grade 2 elementary school. DA was adopted since about two years ago.
Anjar said the reason for persecuting the victims because the victims often wet, defecated in pants, and vent her anger after a quarrel with her husband.
From the results of the examination and a medical report, there are 28 wounds suffered. Among these head injuries as a result of being hit with a hammer. And the head of the victim's body doused with hot water which causes burns on the back, abdomen and head.
Furthermore, the right and left hand fractured due to twisted by the offender. A victim's genital suffered swelling, bruising blue, due to hammer thrown and left eyes plugged by hand resulting in the victim's eyes swollen.
"The perpetrator has done maltreatment more than a year, starting in October 2015 till last Tuesday, November 15, 2016 when the victim was struck with a hammer on the body," he said.
Former Director of the Special Criminal of South Kalimantan Regional Police also said that currently the victims had been secured in the PPA unit police in order to restore mental.
"The victim psycho is getting better and able to play and laugh. Unlike when we secured. She looked traumatized and refused to eat," he said.
While the sadistic mother was charged under Article 44 paragraph 2 of Law Decree No. 23 Year 2004 on Domestic Violence and the threat of punishment of 10 years or Article 80 paragraph 2 of Law Decree No. 35 Year 2015 regarding Child Protection carries a penalty of 5 years.
