Jakarta (ANTARA) - People's digital literacy skills still need to be improved to encourage digitalization in all aspects of people's lives, the National Development Planning Ministry/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) has said.
"Currently, the aspect that has become a significant challenge is the expedition of digital literacy in various (groups of people)," Deputy for Economic Affairs at the ministry Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said at a webinar on ‘Sustainable Economic Transformation Through a Digital Approach,’ which was accessed from here on Tuesday.
In addition, there are other challenges, such as the ability of the business sector to use advances in digital technology, the capacity of the digital industry, and the minimal availability of skilled human resources.
Other challenges include uneven digital infrastructure, as well as minimum digital security despite the widespread use of digital services.
Widyasanti said that collaboration among stakeholders will be facilitated through a digital transformation master plan, which is currently still being prepared.
Increasing people's digital literacy, developing skilled human resources in technology, and developing research, digital industry, and digital financial services will serve as the foundations of digital transformation that the government will continue to pursue in the future.
Other measures include increasing the use of big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as reinforcing digital security.
Meanwhile, digital infrastructure development will focus on expanding access and the quality of digital infrastructure, as well as laying the foundation of digital transformation going forward.
"Then digitalization in the government sector or e-government in the sectors of health, education, tourism industry, trade, rural development, MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprises) cooperatives, agriculture, and fisheries will also continuously be mainstreamed," Widyasanti added.
