Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Fmily Welfare Movement (PKK) held a supplemental food intake (PMT) creation for posyandu (integrated health services post) in the context of the 62nd National Nutrition Day.
Chairwoman of Kotabaru PKK Hj Fatma Idiana said that the PMT menu creation contest was one of real action and a form of join commitment in preventing stunting and obesity.
"Participants are expected to pay attention to the shape and taste, as well as the nutrition content," she said as reported on Wednesday.
Participants were also expected to use local food ingredients that are characteristic of their respectiove areas, such as corn, cassava, and banana.
This is at the same time promoting quality food by prioritizing local food resources to the entire community, especially housewives.
In addition, utilizing the house yard as a source of of food and nutrition with a large enough potential should continue to be optimized.
Kotabaru District Government supports this activity with the hope that all levels of society will participate.
The PMT menu creation contest for posyandu was attended by 29 cadres of posyandu in the sub-districts of Pulau Laut Utara and Pulau Laut Sigam. The cost set at IDR50,000 for an interesting PMT menu to be displayed.
