Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Si Bingkis durian won the 2022 Durian Contest in Tungkaran Village, Pelaihari Sub-district, Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan, Sunday (January 2, 2022).
Si Bingkis won the first place after competing with 34 other types of durian native to Tungkaran Village.
The durian, said Asruni, the owner, won the highest score from the jury team based on several assessment criteria, namely taste, aroma, texture, size, and thickness of durian flesh.
"The taste is really sweat, the thickness is almost the same as the others, but the taste can't be resisted," said Asruni.
According to him, he has five trees of si Bingkis durian which are 100 year old with the ability of one tree to produce 100 durians.
"The interest in si Bingkis is very high. When we sell durian in front of the house, si Bingkis sell first. In fact, many people order," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Tungkaran Village Aliansyah revealed that he took advantage of the durian harvest moment as well as opend a charity food stall to repair At-Taqwa Mosque in the RT (neighborhood unit) 03 of he village.
For two days, all residents of Tungkaran Village were advised not to bring their fruit for sale out of Tungkaran.
The first day, he said, 2,750 durians were sold with a net profit of Rp32.3 million and Rp10 million from a charity stall. Then on the second day, at least 3,000 durians were prepared for sale.
All profits from selling durian and food at the charity stall, he said, will be used to repair the roof of the mosque, which has leaked.
"Hopefully all visitors can get a share (of reward), while eating durian you are doing charity," he hoped.
The first winner of the contest got a prize of Rp750,000, second winner si Bangkui durian won Rp600,000, si Waluh the third winner got Rp500,000.
Also attending the event were the Head of Tanah Laut Tourism Agency HM Rafiki Effendi, Head of TransportationAgency Gentry Yuliantono, Head of Pelaihari Sub-district Dwi Anggriani, and several representatives of the related government working units (SKPD).
