Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan contingent is targeting to win 35 gold medals at the 16th National Para Games (Peparnas) to be held in Papua Province on November 2 to 15, 2021, said the local NPC official.
Deputy Chairman II for Coaching and Achievement of the South Kalimantan National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Supiannoor said that the contingent has scheduled to leave for Papua on November 2.
"About 200 people of South Kalimantan contingent will go for Papua Peparnas," he said here on Sunday adding that the entourage will leave in one aircraft.
Supiannoor said that all athletes and officials have undergone PCR tests before leaving. "Hopefully all are in good health, so there is no one left," he said.
The number of athletes to compete in Peparnas is 135 to play in 10 sports, namely athletic, badminton, table tennis, judo, shooting, chess, swimming, weight lifting, archery, and football.
He said that South Kalimantan contingent targets to collect 35 gold medals in Papua Peparnas.
"In West Java Peparnas we won the sixth rank with 32 gold medals. Now in Papua, we target to ranking up by winning 35 gold medals," said Supiannoor.
