Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The District Government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) affirmed that if there are still teachers who refuse to be vaccinated for an ideological reason not for a medical reason, such as pregnancy and comorbidities, they are certain to be dismissed.
"If the teacher is a contract worker, the contract will be revoked, and if the civil servant he will be given sanctions and a strong warning. Schools are not allowed to hold face-to-face learning if there are teachers who have not been vaccinated," said acting District Secretary of HST Muhammad Yani in Barabai, Friday.
He mentioned that there was already a teacher at a kindergarten (TK) whose contract was terminated because he did not want to be vaccinated. "We also will not issue a face-to-face learning permit if there is still teachers who refuse to be vaccinated," he pointed out.
Unless the teacher does have a medical reason, for example, being pregnant, has a history of illness or comorbidities. "That too must be proven by a letter from vaccinator," he said.

Then what about the stock of vaccines in HST? "Yesterday we proposed 10 thousand doses, but only 3,000 doses came. Indeed, the vaccine is currently difficult, but we continue to strive that our supply is safe and fulfilled," he said.
Acting Head of HST Education Agency Muhammad Anhar previously said regarding the requirements for carrying out face-to-face learning, 3,438 teachers or 81.58 percent have been vaccinated. "This is quite encouraging from the previous two weeks which was only 60 percent," he said.
Anhar admitted that there were still teachers who had not been able to take vaccination for medical and non-medical reasons.. "About 103 teachers are pregnant and guru 207 teachers have comorbid records, so they cannot be vaccinated," he said.
The implementation of face-to-face learning in HST was postponed until after Eid al-Adha for the reason of the relatively increasing trend of COVID-19 cases. "After one week, to be precise on July 21, 2021, we will hold a meeting and evaluate again to determine face-to-face learning or not," he said.
