Head of Kotabaru Marine and Fisheries Agency H Talib here on Friday, said it was the success of local government with the fishermen to improve the quality of human resources, especially for traditional fishermen.
"The local government has always created programs for fishermen," he said.
Among them, the local government held a training program for fishermen and skills related fishing by utilizing facilities owned, such as GPS, and utilization of the catch.
In addition, fishermen equipped with knowledge about the safety for the deep-sea fishing.
"Hopefully with the continued efforts made by the government to increase human resources and fishing economy will get better," Talib explained.
Kotabaru Regional Secretary H Suriansyah adds this award would be the motivation and encouragement for fishermen in Kotabaru to be more active in improving its economy.
"Kotabaru thanks the Central Government because it gives a lot of help in the effort to improve the Kotabaru's fishermen economy and expected a better future and thrive," he said.
