Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) is sodifying its excellence in various academic field towards World Class University by the age of 67 on September 21, 2025.
"The noble vision of becoming world class university is not an empty dream. ULM is now on the right track as it celebrates its 67th anniversary," ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri stated at the 67th Dies Natalis of ULM in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Monday.
He announced that ULM has just listed in the 15 best universities in Indonesia according to AD Scientific Index 2025. It also ranked 1,886 in the world rankings according to EduRank.

Over the last three years, ULM's progress showed a positive outlook. In 2023, ULM ranked 2,528, then rose to 2,196 in 2024, and up again to 1.847 in 2025.
The positive trend reflects ULM's efforts in improving the quality of education, research, and academic reputation at the global level.
To be on the list of world class universities, he said, a higher education institution must be ranked in the top 1,500 globally. To achieve this goal, ULM still has to works hard to improve its ranking until it can surpass around 300 universities.
"Every element of ULM is fully committed to realizing a university that is superior, dignified, and internationally recognized," he said.

During this year's celebration, ULM Rector personally received a certificate from the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) for ULM Integrated Laboratory as a testing laboratory, with accreditation number LP-2160-IDN.
KAN accreditation guarantees strengthening the testing capabilities and technical service of ULM Integrated Laboratory for local industry and MSMEs, supporting products to meet the national standards.
ULM also received an award from South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) Speaker Supian HK for its contribution to producing superior, highly educated human resources for the regional and national progress.
ULM Rector also presented several awards to outstanding students and lecturers, as well as to ULM's partners, including the media, local government, and industry.
ULM's Dies Natalis also had the opportunity to present the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs of the Gotong Royong Cabinet era, Prof. Rokhmin Dahuri, to deliver a scientific oration.
