Martapura, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjar Regent Khalilurrahman inaugurated ready to drink water facility at the Al Karomah Grand Mosque, Martapura, Friday. The facility was built in cooperation between Banjar PUPR Agency and the local government-owned tap water company PDAM Intan Banjar.
The Regent said that the facility was prepared to make it easy for people to get ready to drink water and to increase the attractiveness of the Grand Mosque.
"This will make people no longer bother preparing bottled drinking water. In addition to meeting the needs for healthy drinking water, it also reduces the use of plastic," said Guru Khalil, the Regent's nickname.
Head of Cipta Karya of the Banjar PUPR Agency Irwan Jaya said that 10 units of drinking water facilities were built so that the congregation of the largest mosque in the Banjar District could drink directly.
"We hope that this facility will make it easier for people to get ready to drink water whose water comes from raw water that has been mechanically refined," he said.
Previously, congregants or mosque visitors brought water or bought bottled water and then threw the bottles. It was inspired the Regent to build a ready to drink water facility.
