"We have already monitored the price of staple food this week, the fact is there is an increase compared to last month. This is due to the weather. According to her, basic commodities affected by La Lina, which is marked by high rainfall, such as vegetables, including chilies and shallot.
"Chilies and shallot prices have risen due to continuous rainy season, while flooding occurred in the chili and shallot production areas to cause production reduced," said Trisnawati.
She compared the price of chili in November 2020 to December 13, 2020 naik from IDR30 thousand to IDR40 thousand per kg. So did cayenne pepper from IDR40 thousand to IDR60 thousand per kg.
"Meanwhile shallot price has risen from November from IDR25 thousand to IDR30 thousand per kg," Trisnawati said.
The largest supply of shallot is from Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, and Engrekang District, South Sulawesi, she said.
She assured that although the supply is reducing, the stock remains available until the end of the year.
