Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - A total of 2,000 poor families in the city of Banjarmasin received cash assistance from Family Hope Program (PKH) given by the Government of Banjarmasin.
Mayor Banjarmasin H Muhidin on Wednesday handed over the funds to the beneficiary households. He said, in 2014 Banjarmasin get Rp1.1 billion fund for two thousand families.
"Each family get varies assistance according to the provisions established, ranging from Rp900 thousand to Rp2 million per household," he said.
Terms for PKH receiver are, the family has a pregnant or post-partum mothers or children who are still in primary school or in secondary school.
Special Wednesday, PKH funds were distributed to 917 poor families, the remainder is distributed through post offices, including post offices Sungai Bilu, Cemara, Belitung and Beruntung Jaya.
According to Muhidin, the family assistance program, aiming to improve the quality of public health and education level of the children, in order to support their future.
He hopes the recipients can use the funds as well as possible, according to their appropriation, especially in improving the families' economy.
