Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto handed over IDR300 million in compensation to three heirs to medical personnel who died in their duties in the handling of COVID-19 in South Kalimantan.
Minister who came to visit the Ulin General Hospital in Banjarmasin Friday (July 17, 2020) also submitted incentives to health workers involved in the fight against the highly contagious disease COVID-19.
He delivered condolence to the families of the health workers who left behind.
The compensation submitted to the heir of doctor Hasan Zain SpB, who had been serving at the Islam Hospital of Banjarmasin.
Then to the family of Untung Skep Ners, a nurse of Ulin Hospital, and H Zakaria Skep, who served in the Tanah Laut District Health Office.
The Health Minister expressed his appreciation and respect for the deceased (almarhum) who had dedicated themselves to helping sufferers of COVID-19.
"May God gives a decent place to the deceased and gives strength to the families left behind," he said.
He pointed out that the provision of compensation and respect was a form of care and attention of President Joko Widodo to health workers who were fighting against COVID-19.
"This compensation is a form of how the president gives the highest care and attention to the health workers," he said.
The minister also came to pay for the cost of care for hospitals that treat COVID-19 patients.
