Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Kotabaru Administration offers one of its 110 islands, Pulau Hantu or the Ghost Island, as a new place for prisoners.

Kotabaru Regent H Irhami Ridjani describe the island as not far different from that of Nusakambangan, the very wellknown island of prisoners in Indonesia. It hard to be reached and no chance for the inmates to escape.
 
The inmates will not escape for all the surrounding of the island is only sea. It is far away from the inhabited island, said the regent on Tuesday related to the escape of eight inmates of Kotabaru Prison on Sunday.

Not only the Ghost Island. Kotabaru has also several other isolated islands. He mentioned some are Larilarian Island, Kapak Island, and Nangka Island. They are about 60 to 80 miles away from other islands which have population.

Meanwhile, Kotabaru has about 110 small islands, 31 of them have no name. Other small islands spread, 21 islands in Central Kelumpang Subdistrict, 10 islands in Sebuku Island subdistrict and another 23 islands in South Pulau Laut subdistrict.

Kotabaru also has somes isles and island, namely are Laut Kecil isles, Samer Gelap, Laut Island, Sebuku Island, Kerayaan Island, Kerayaan Kecil Island, Kerasian Island, Kerumputan Island, Serudung Island, and Birah-birahan Island.

Another island are Semut, Kelambau, Sembilan, Manti, Manti Kecil, Keluang, Perdamaian Besar, Perdamaian Kecil, and Haur. Samer Gelap Island, Nangka, Nangka Kecil, Tabuan, Tanah Merah, and Larilarian which is 60 miles a distance away from Sebuku and 80 miles from West Sulawesi.
