Martapura, (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - Government of Banjar District, South Kalimantan Province, proposes a farmer who is eager to environmental conservation as a potential recipient of Kalpataru 2013.
"Candidates proposed named Madroji, a farmer from the village of Mangkauk, sub-District Pengaron," said Secretary of Banjar District Nasrun Syah in Martapura on Monday.
The proposal was based on merit and Madroji services that are considered to have a big hand in protecting and preserving the forest especially in the local district.
He explained that the 60-year-old Madroji known as persistent and painstaking farmers maintain and preserve the forest environment, so fair enough to be proposed as Kalpataru recipient candidates.
Madroji since 1980 on its own initiative diligent in planting trees as green plants, almost half of his life dedicated to preserving the environment.
Banjar Environment Agency Chief Supian said it proposed Madroji as candidates for 2013 Kalpataru environmental savior category in field planting, maintenance and management of the forest.
