Martapura, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent Banjar Khalilurrahman wants the Sub-district of Gambut to continue to be the Kindai Limpuar or rice barn that meet the needs of rice in South Kalimantan and other regions.


"The citation that Gambut Sub-district held as the Banjar District's Kindai Limpuar must be maintained and the potential of agriculture must continue to be developed," said the regent on the sidelines of his Ramadan safari on Saturday.

He said, the Banjar Government had prepared a special agricultural program in this sub-district in the form of developing strategic areas for Gambut 1 and 2 to increase rice production.

Through the program rice production in the sub-districts which surrounded by rice fields is believed to be further improved that it can guarantee the availability of rice for the people of South Kalimantan.

Another program that is also implemented in Gambut Subdistrict is the development of water tap pipelines to meet the availability of clean water.

"The Banjar Regency Government continues to strive to provide the best service for the community, including the provision of clean water, so that the need for basic services that must be prepared by the government can be fulfilled," he said.
