Head of the South Kalimantan Office of the Religious Affairs Ministry H Noor Fahmi ascertain the province will get additional quota from 10 thousand additional hajj quota given by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud to President Joko Widodo in their bilateral meeting.
"Alhamdulillah Banjarmasin Embarkation also received an additional quota from the additional 10,000," he said when opening the qur'ah activities or drawing of flight group (keloter) of the South Kalimantan Hajj Prospective Pilgrimage at the GSign Hotel Banjarmasin on Monday (22/04/2019).
Fahmi explained, regarding how much additional amount it would get, his side was still waiting for an official letter from the Central Ministry of Religion.
"We just wait for the official letter, hopefully we can get more additions considering the waiting list in South Kalimantan has reached 29 years, is the longest in Indonesia after South Sulawesi with a 39-year waiting list," he said
Fahmi pointed out, from the additions that will be obtained, it is planned to have 50 percent for regular based reserves or the next order portion. The other 50 percent for the elderly are divided into two, namely 25 percent for the elderly and 25 percent for the companion. This is the result of a flight group scheduling meeting in Jakarta.
"Related to the provisions for the intended elderly who have the oldest age, not based on portion numbers," he added.
The regular Hajj quota of Banjarmasin Embarkation, South Kalimantan, is currently 3,799 people.
"If you add 32 for officials, the total quota will be 3,831 people, the same as last year's hajj quota, there are no additions," he explained.
The Banjarmasin Embarkation hajj candidate pilgrim is scheduled to depart on July 9, 2019 from Syamsuddin Noor Airport.
