Central Hulu Sungai (HST) became the overall champion of the athletics at the 2019 Provincial Student Sports Week (Popda) in Banjarbaru.
"The HST athlete dominates as the most prestigious gold medalist in this prestigious sport until the third day of Popda," said Head of Disporapar HST Drs Wahyudi Rahmad, Wednesday (3/4).
He was grateful that the HST athletes won six gold medals and one silver in athletic which was contested at the JPOK Banjarbaru sports field.
Wahyudi said, the first gold athletics was achieved from the bullet race competitions by the name of Anggi Sahrian.
Two gold medals from throwing discs and from a 400 m run won by the female athlete Katrinnida Aulia. While one gold long jump was won by Anita Nurhalida.
Especially, Wahyudi said, the most prestigious athletic competition for men's 100 meter won by Ardiansyah who also won gold from the javelin throwing.
While one silver from the 800 meter run was successfully obtained by M Rifqy Ramadhan.
The chairman of the HST athletic sports team Taher stated that with the success of winning six gold and one silver medals, the achievements of this year's HST were better than before.
"Alhamdulillah, we succeeded in becoming the overall champion of the athletics at the 2019 Popda event," he concluded.
