PT Pertamina Exploration and Production of Asset 5 Tanjung Field has not been able to turn on the torch of Mabuun torch monument at Murung Pudak Subdistrict, while it still lacks of gas supply.

Manager of PT Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung Field Zulfikar Akbar explained that gas production is now prioritized for production operational needs.

"We still put out the torch because of the lack of gas supply," he explained. Gas requirements for Pertamina's production operations currently reach 2 million standard cubic feet (SCF), while gas production is only 1.8 million SCF.

The lack of gas supply is due to the non-production of two oil and gas wells TA-01 and TA-03 in Tanta Subdistrict.

Pertamina allocates additional funds of about IDR 6 billion per year to support operational production of diesel and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas).

Regent Tabalong Anang Syakhfiani hopes the Mabuun torch to flame again considering the monument of Tanjung Puri is an icon of 'Bumi Saraba Kawa' (Tabalong's nickname).

"We ask Pertamina to strive so that the torch can back to flame, especially at the commemoration of the regency's anniversary this December," explained Anang.
