Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The high price of aircraft ticket has now impacted the arrival of tourists to Banjarmasin, said head of the city's Culture and Tourism Agency Ikhsan Alhaq.
"Visits to the Thousand River City of Banjarmasin has been significantly reduced due to the recent high ticket prices," he said in Banjarmasin on Thursday,
This is also felt by hotel entrepreneurs who are members of the Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI) as well as travel agents here.
"Because the arrival of guests staying at hotels is quite reduced lately according to them," Ikhsan said.
Meanwhile, the number of flights was also reduced. "The information is there is a reduction in flights to our area and vice versa," Ikhsan said.
The problem, he said, this condition occurred when Banjarmasin actively attracted domestic and foreign tourists to encourage an increase in the local economy.
He hopes, the price of flight tickets back to the previous condition, so flights for the purpose of coming to Banjarmasin are increasing again.
"Because this year we have held many tourism-valued events, some of which have even been pushed into national agendas. Unfortunately if not witnessed by foreign tourists," he explained.
According to him, there are 36 tourism events to be performed this year, some in a large scale. one of which is next month the Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival.
