Surabaya, (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor was awarded the 2019 Golden Award for his dedication and consistency in encouraging sports achievements at the provincial, national, and international levels.
Tanah Laut Regent H Sukamta was also recorded as one of the regents who received the Golden Award.
Besides Uncle Birin, the nickname of the Governor of South Kalimantan, the other seven governors in Indonesia, also won a similar award. They are the Governor of North Sumatra, East Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Riau Islands, North Kalimantan, and Papua.
The Sport Care Governor Category Award for Golden Award was handed over by Indonesian Olympic Committee Chairman Erick Thohir.
The awarding in the 2019 National Press Day (HPS) commemoration at Grahadi Building Surabaya, Friday (8/2) evening, was held by the Central PWI Sports Journalists Section (SIWO) as an appreciation for the real example of leaders in advancing sports in this country.
"This is a history of the progress of national sports achievements, especially the real role of SIWO in advancing sports at the regional, national and international levels," said Margiono, Chairman of the 2019 HPN.
The Chairman of the PWI Center Advisory Board said that appreciation for sports caring figures was given to those who had been actively involved and made strong efforts to advance the world of sports.
"The assessment is carried out comprehensively and objectively through observation and real data about the real work of the recipients of the 2019 Golden Award," he remarked.
The Golden Award night was attended by national ministers and figures who witnessed history for the progress of national sports.
Governor H. Sahbirin Noor revealed that this national award is a joint achievement, especially for those who have contributed to the advancement of sports, such as sports organizations, and all components of society, including press people at South Kalimantan.
