Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Head of the HST Food Resilience and Fisheries Agency represented by Aidi Murahman said the current HST food reserves are 13,498 tons which are deposited in Bulog's warehouse.


Head of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) Sub Division Regional of Barabai Rahmadi revealed the reserve of rice is able to meet the food needs of the HST people for the next nine months.

"Stocks of rice in HST are still quite safe for the next nine months," he said.

According to Rahmadi, the price of rice is still based on Presidential Instruction No. 5/2015, which is Rp. 7,300 / Kg.

Meanwhile, the grain absorption team (Sergap) from the Indonesian Army Headquarters (Mabes TNI AD) reviewed and monitored the activities of a series of mentoring special efforts for food self-sufficiency in the HST region on Wednesday (23/1).

Chairman of the Sergap Team Col. Inf Firmansyah revealed the aim of Sergap is to increase national food reserves, which are carried out through assignments to Bulog.

"Therefore, Bulog must immediately absorb the grain of farmers, so that it can help and improve the welfare of farmers through the benefits of their crops," he said.

The Sergap team was accompanied by the 1002 Barabai District Miitary Commander (Dandim) along with the ranks to review the Bulog warehouse in the village of Matang Ginalon, Pandawan Subdistrict, to directly check the available rice stocks.

The team proceeded to check rice plants in Paya Besar village, which is expected to be ready for harvest in the third week of February.
