Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Four farmer groups from four sub-districts, namely North Banjarmasin, East Banjarmasin, West Banjarmasin, and South Banjarmasin, received plant pest sprayers as assistance from Mayor Ibnu Sina.
The mayor handed over the assistance at the Fisheries and Food Security Agency's hall on Thursday (03/01).
In addition to submitting assistance, the mayor met with new entrepreneurs (WUB) who were fostered by the city government. He wants to accommodate their aspirations.
Some of the aspirations that conveyed included the appeal of new business people to Pemko to make a product packaging house so that goods they produce could be more attractive and durable.
Responding to this, H Ibnu Sina explained, the matter of packaging for WUB products had become homework for city government since 2018. This year, the government will study other regions to make a packaging house.
"Hopefully later we can improve the quality of packaging, then continue to maintain food security and the final task of how to market it," he said.
Good packaging for food, according to him, is from aluminum foil. Indeed, the price is rather expensive, but it won't be a problem if the number of products is large.
"I am sure in 2019 we can be obtained it from the Ministry. Even if it is not, then from the Cooperative and SMEs Agency or of Trade and Industry, we can begin in in Banjarmasin. we will ask the ministry again hopefully this year can be obtained. We have proposed it for 2 years," he said.
Regarding product marketing, the former member of the South Kalimantan DPRD for three periods said that city government had tried to hold meetings with several retail and online stores. Bukalapak agreed to help WUB market their products.
In the first stage, Bukalapak will provide training to 35 WUBs on how to make attractive products. "Bukalapak will open 2 classes. One class of 35 people will be taken from WUB 7 SKPD (working unit or agency), one SKPD 5 WUB will be trained from the beginning to the end," he explained.
From the collected data, until the end of 2018, the number of WUBs that built by 7 SKPDs in the scope of Banjarmasin government is 1500.
