Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The city of a thousand rivers Banjarmasin keeps improving and beautifying its self with a variety of beautiful greening, clean and healthy environment, river cleaning, and now walks on its way toward inclusive city.


Mayor Ibnu Sina, on the sidelines of the 2018 International Disability Day commemoration at the Banjarmasin City Hall yard on Saturday (1/12), ensured the local government's partisanship for people with disabilities will continue to take precedence.

"We want to be no difference in rights, both normal people and people with disabilities. If other people are comfortable living in this city, people with disabilities must also be comfortable in this city," said the mayor along with about 1,000 people with disabilities in the commemoration.

The city government has so far paid attention to various rights and needs of persons with disabilities, such as building disability-friendly sidewalks along Jalan A Yani, giving them space in development planning, and building facilities for them in offices.

Banjarmasin also seeks inclusion education with a system that regulates disabled people can be served in the nearest school, in regular classes with friends of their age. Without having to be separated to the class, students can learn together with accessibility that supports all students without the exception of diffables.

"I feel Banjarmasin has provided extraordinary opportunities to all citizens, to groups with disabilities, so that they can contribute to development," he pointed out.

With the construction and provision of various facilities for persons with disabilities, it is believed that this city of around 800 thousand population will be more comfortable in everything.

According to Ibnu Sina, the 2018 International Disability Day means to encourage the government and all components of society to continue to give equal rights to persons with disabilities.
