Paringin,  S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Very many people do not know the economic situation of the Sahabat Balangan Center (SBC) social activists, who are increasingly getting closer to the people of Balangan Regency, even starting to be widely known in various regencies and cities in South Kalimantan.

Various kinds of talks in the community were increasingly erratic, starting from the suspicion that they were members of political parties, owned by the government, assisted by interested figures, successful people, and so on.

During a visit by journalists in Balangan, Thursday (29/11), it was revealed that the organizers of the social activists were only simple and unpretentious people. Their jobs are odd, there are traveling merchants, rubber farmers, tailors, sellers of specialty snacks, cake sellers, motorbike washing employees, honor teachers, and journalists.

Even the Chairman of SBC Dewi Purwanti did not have time to finish elementary school. She lived in a rented house measuring about 4 x 4 meters, for years with her small family. The place used as a base camp for gathering to foster community-based SMEs that deserve help.

She and her husband ran a business as a Pop Ice and fries peddler in traditional markets, sometimes traveling to other areas to support their own lives while at the same time setting aside their income to help others.

There are also members of the SBC who only in the last one month enjoy electricity in their homes because for decades they have been hit by installation funds and have not been able to pay monthly bills.

Other members lived in homes that had weathered walls and floors, worse than residents who SBC helped to rehabilitate their homes.

But their circumstances did not dampen their steps to help others, never even prioritizing their personal or group interests.

The head of the SBC said, they are often accused of having interests and are often regarded as oversleeping heroes. Not to mention the various stories in the field, some of the people who were assisted hoped for more, because they thought they were from a government service or a group of rich people who had a lot of money.

"Even people who are clearly capable and have wealth often ask for help for their families, both basic needs, health funds, even bicycles. Finally, when we survey, we cannot enter them in the aid program, because there are still many who are more eligible for help, so they are disappointed," he said.

They also do not believe if it is explained that the funds to help the residents are compulsory fees for members of IDR 5,000 per month with only 10 people in management, profits from selling, and donations from donors who are members of the What's App Sahabat Balangan Center (SBC) group and Habar Balangan FB Group.

"Not infrequently when sharing groceries we have to rub in personal bags, or even borrow because in the data field it increased from the plan. When the rehabilitation is not rarely funds and plans are prepared to miss the budget and inventory, we even have to owe up to millions for completing aid," she said.

Even so, continued Dewi, there is always a way to pay for it. Even now there are kiosks and building shops that offer loans if SBC needs materials to help residents when cash is insufficient.

"We still hope that citizens who care about others, at least in their neighborhoods, to join us, work together to ease the burden on our brothers," Dewi said.

Every help from citizens who enter the SBC cash is fully channeled to help residents. They open accounts 013.03.01.15130.2 Bank Kalsel Branch Paringin, with contact numbers 0853-4900-9958.

For the costs of transportation, accommodation, and various other things in SBC activities, they use their own personal funds, she concluded.
