Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina admitted that the online-based smart city program in his city has not yet reached perfection, as it is only smart in the government.

According to him, the smart city program built by the city government since 2017 has actually been felt to be of great benefit to the community in areas dealing with the government.

"Smart in the government, for example, people want to deal with the urban village just download the Si Palui application. Here eleven types of documents handling can be served online, no need to go to the office," he said.

This, he said, is one of the facilities provided by the smart city program, in addition to other programs in all services in the Regional Work Unit (SKPD).

"Including for budget openness, all can see in the application via Android," he said.

He said, the city government plans to collaborate with the private sector to expand the coverage of smart city programs, including increasing free WiFi points.

"There are many more programs we want to create in developing smart city," he explained.

Ibnu Sina stated that the foundation of the smart city program had been built strong enough, so that in the future it will continue to grow, even though leadership will change.

Moreover, he said, the city of Banjarmasin is included in 100 cities in Indonesia that have the support of the Ministry of Communication and Information in smart city programs.

"In fact, we are trying to enter the top 10 cities that are advancing smart city programs in 2019," said Ibn Sina.
