Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - To support the green revolution in South Kalimantan, Acting Regent of the Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H A Chairansyah went directly (taking action) to plant the mahogany tree in Banua Jingah Village, Thursday (10/25).


The act of planting trees in collaboration with the South Kalimantan Forestry Agency was carried out in four villages, namely Banua Jingah, Mandingin, Bakapas, and Awang Besar.

Chairansyah revealed that the regional government will always be committed to overseeing environmental sustainability to create a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, including managing the clean, neat, green and beautiful city of Barabai.

"Today we are planting trees, meaning we are asking for prayer, planting hope, planting our work all for the survival of future generations," he said.

Therefore, he continued, tree planting is very good for us to strive in the quest for a green revolution, especially in Bumi Murakata (nickname of the district) and South Kalimantan in general.

Chairansyah also hopes that the trees planted to be maintained well by the community so that they grow fresh and benefit all.

"Hopefully this tree planting can move and change public awareness to participate in tree maintenance and planting activities on Bumi Murakata, so Barabai will always be a green city," he said.
