Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor Monday (15/10) inaugurated the Center for Forest Product Marketing (PPHH) for marketing various forest products produced by the community and local entrepreneurs.


According to the Governor, South Kalimantan forest is a tropical forest that is rich with various kinds of resources can be used to improve the welfare of the community.

To encourage the growth of trade in forest products, the government built an integrated marketing center for entrepreneurs and craftsmen to display their products. Here, it is expected prospective buyers or investors will no longer have difficulty obtaining various of South Kalimantan's forest products.

The plan, the forest products marketing center will be visited by several diplomats from various countries who attended the commemoration of the 38th World Food Day, which is centered in Barito Kuala District and Banjarbaru City.

Head of South Kalimantan Forestry Agency Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said that the newly established PPHH is a very important need to encourage the marketing of forest products.

According to him, currently the management and marketing of forest products run independently, so there is no definitive data on how much the sale of various forest products is and how many volumes.

"Therefore, through this PPHH, all sales of forest products, including the amount of production, will be recorded better," he said.

If there are investors who need a variety of forest products, they can easily get recommendations or information, where to find and relate.

In addition, he added, the government will also be easier to control product quality, so investors who come are convinced that forest products that come out of South Kalimantan are in good condition.

Not only that, he added, the government will also continue to help entrepreneurs, both big businessmen, and MSMEs, to continue to improve the quality of their products and packaging.

"I hope that the visit of diplomats and ambassadors on Tuesday (10/16) afternoon will produce quite encouraging transactions," he said.

According to Hanif, his party has also received information, there will be Chinese investors, who are interested in buying various forest products in South Kalimantan.
