Batola, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) appreciates the exemplary of South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor in mobilizing all elements of society to support national and regional development programs.
One of which Uncle Birin, that what the Governor popularly known, is valued as an indefatigable figure to inviting the public to succeed the commemoration of World Food Day (HPS) 2018.
"We witness today on Saturday, September 22 at least five thousand high school and vocational high school students participated directly down to the rice fields to plant rice. This is the extraordinary history of South Kalimantan," said MURI Manager Triyono at the location of HPS 2018 in Jejangkit Muara Village, Batola.
Triyono said Uncle Birin was one of the outstanding and proud heads of regions. This is evident from the large community participation in supporting HPS.
Even since MURI was founded in 1990 there have never been 5000 student activities going down to the fields to plant rice. This is an extraordinary and proud history.
Most make MURI amazed is 5000 students who participate proudly doing their activities. Students come from four regions in South Kalimantan, namely Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, Batola, and Banjar Regency.
"These five thousand students plant rice seeds on a stretch of tens of hectares land that has been prepared," he said.
Triyono added that to appreciate this extraordinary joint work is a feasibility. MURI awarded the award to South Kalimantan Government with its strong magnet is Uncle Birin.
The award category given is the Most Student Planting Rice.
