Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Head of South Kalimantan Health Agency HM Muslim said 70 percent of 3,831 prospective haj pilgrims of Banjarmasin Embarkation are in high risk or have a history of high risk health.


"In general prospective haj pilgrims have hypertension or high blood pressure, so they should get serious attention," he said in Banjarmasin, Friday.

The second sequence of hajj candidates with high-risk health conditions is cholesterol, then diabetes or high blood sugar.

"For the high-risk category because of age or elderly it is about 20 percent," said HM Muslim.

He revealed, all conditions of high-risk prospective haj pilgrims is known to the accompanying medical officers in every flight group, so that the handling is well planned.

"Yes, this year indeed the high-risk prospective haj pilgrims are not marked with bracelets, it may have been such a rule, but the hajj health officers of each flight group would already have the data," said Muslim.

He expects, haj candidate who experience these high risk conditions to maintain fitness and a lot of rest, do not force themselves to worship in the holy land, if the health condition is not possible.

He also warned that weather conditions in Saudi Arabia's holy land are currently experiencing high heat during the day. "Drink plenty of water, bring a spray to cool the body, because the weather there is quite hot," he said.

Prospective haj pilgrims of Banjarmasin Embarkation began to depart on Thursday (19/7) at around 14:34 with Garuda Indonesia aircraft.

Total per flight group as many as 325 people, namely 320 haj candidates and five hajj and health officers. Banjarmasin Embarkation will fly 17 flight groups, as many as 12 come from South Kalimantan and five from Central Kalimantan.
