Martapura, S Kalimanan (AntaranewsKalsel) - All sub-districts in Banjar District work together with the South Kalimantan Forestry Agency to plant tree seedlings for environment conservation programs.


The signing of an agreement between the two sides was witnessed by the Regent Banjar Khalilurrahman on the sidelines of a joint ceremony of Banjar District Government in Martapura on Monday, followed by hundreds of civil servants.

"We strongly support the steps of the South Kalimantan Forestry Agencywhich cooperates with the subdistrict head in an effort to conserve the environment through the planting of tree seedlings," said Khalilurrahman.

He explained that the agency step is certainly able to bring environmental sustainability because it involves civil state apparatus those can be example of society.

"We ask all sub-district heads to encourage their subordinates to carry out the agreement, so that programs aimed at saving the environment can be realized," he said.

Secretary of the agency Rahmadin M.Y. said the agreement with all sub-district heads of Banjar District is the realization of the green revolution program run by the provincial government.

"Green revolution program is the idea of South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor followed by Head of Forestry Agency Hanif Faisol by initiating the issuance of regional regulations," he said.

He explained the green revolution program is part of a big scenario to reduce all critical lands in South Kalimantan in a relatively short time.

He mentioned the critical land in South Kalimantan reaches 640 thousand hectares and in 2016 only eight thousand hectares are recovered, while in 2017 it reaches 16 thousand hectares.

"Our target in 2018, the recovering of critical land can reach 35 thousand hectares and we need the support of all parties to realize this big plan," he said.
