Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - People belonging to the Harmony of Dayak Meratus Kotabaru questioned the right to cultivate land (HGU) for PT Minamas palm plantation in Sungai Durian Subdistrict.

Chairman of Commission I DPRD Kotabaru Suji Hendra Wednesday said the council held a hearing on the proposal of the Sungai Durian community on behalf of the Harmony of Dayak Meratus (KSDM) Concerning HGU of PT Minamas and implementation of Credit of Primary Cooperative Members (KKPA) program or plasma for the surrounding community.

"They have sent a letter to the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR-BPN) related to the problem," said Suji Hendra.

Another thing submitted by the people in the hearing was the need to acknowledge the existence of grave sites of local residents and ancestors as regulated by the local regulation on the necessity of the company to allocate at least 20 percent of the land area to the community with KKPA or plasma pattern.

According to Suji, although a number of representatives from PT Minamas attended, but in the forum they can not give answers to the citizens. The reason, they do not have the capacity to decide the company's policy, so it must be submitted to their superiors.

Finally the hearings attended by stakeholders have not been able to decide and make final conclusions.

"As for us (legislative council), to follow up this matter, internally we will hold a meeting, to then coordinate with related parties," he explained.

Not to close the possibility, Suji said, it also plans to make direct confirmation to the Ministry of ATR-BPN in Jakarta and PT Minamas main office.
