Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Human Development Index in South Kalimantan in 2017 reached 69.65 or increased 0.87 percent compared to HDI in 2016.


"South Kalimantan's HDI status in 2016 is moderate, the same as in the previous year and this year the number of HDI is 69.65 grew by 0.87 percent for one year," Head of Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Diah Utami in Banjarbaru said, Thursday.

She said that during the period of 2016 to 2017 the components of the HDI-forming increase marked with newborns have a chance to live up to 68.02 years.

That number increased by 0.10 years compared to the previous year and 7-year-old children had a 12.46 years of schooling or increased by 0.17 years
compared to 2016.

Another increasing component of the population aged 25 years and over on average undergoing education for 7.99 years increased 0.10 years when compared to the previous year.

"The per capita expenditure adjusted (constant 2012 prices) of the community has reached Rp11.60 million in 2017, an increase of Rp293 thousand compared to the previous year," she said.

According to her, in general, South Kalimantan's HDI continues to progress from 2010 to 2017 which increased from 65.20 in 2010 to 69.65 in 2017.

During that period, South Kalimantan's HDI showed great progress with an average growth of 0.98 percent per year and the period 2016-2017 grew 0.87 percent.

"The growth of South Kalimantan's HDI for the period of 2010-2017 shows considerable progress, although the status is still" moderate ", but it is close to 70 which means reaching" high "status," she said.
