Rantau, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tapin government distributes hundreds of agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan) to farmer groups to further increase agricultural production in the district.
Head of Agriculture Agency Wagimin in Rantau Friday said the amount of alsintan distributed to farmer groups as many as 748 units of various types.
"The total number of alsintan distributed 748 units and almost 80 percent have been distributed to farmer groups, so they can use them to cultivate agricultural land," he said.
The 748 alsintan consists of 463 hand tractors, 22 tractor tractors, 69 transplants or planting machines, 195 water pumps as a means of supporting agricultural machinery before harvest, so that the harvest becomes maximal.
He said despite having hundreds of alsintan, but the amount is still less about 34 percent because the agricultural land area in Tapin reached 84 thousand hectares.
"Not all of the machines are handed over to farmer groups, but some are kept to be lent to communities or farmer groups that have not," he said.
Meanwhile, Tapin rice production throughout 2017 was 416,070 tons. "The rice production exceeded the target of 391,551 tons. Besides paddy, we produce corn, soybean, and red onion production which also keep increasing," he said.
